The Brand

“Soronko (London) is an elegant subscription box filled with independent, BAME-owned brands. We want to increase and celebrate diversity/multiculturalism in a box of 4/5 'surprise' luxury items either monthly, bi-monthly or yearly; with the option to purchase as a one-off!” - Melony Niblett (Owner)

The name Soronko derives from Twi (one of the main languages in Ghana ) and roughly translates to ‘distinctly diverse’.

When designing the Logo I kept in mind Mel’s inspiration behind naming her company.

“I chose 'Soronko' as it pays homage to my heritage & have be playing around with having 'LONDON' underneath it as it pays homage to my birthplace. “

Instagram Favicon

Mel’s inspiration behind founding ‘Soronko’:

“With the recent resurgence of racial disparity worldwide, I was inspired to create something that would celebrate more multicultural businesses (specifically BAME-owned), as they are severely under-represented across the globe, particularly in the UK. The tag #blackpoundday which has an aim of shedding light on black-owned businesses, encourages people to start seeking them out as viable options for goods. After speaking to different people, I found that most still found it quite hard to find them & so the birth of "Soronko" came!”

Sticker Designs

Using features from the Company logo and Instagram Favicon helped me to create these fun sticker designs.

These stickers are used as ‘freebie’s’ in the Soronko gift-boxes.

Business Cards

I wanted to keep the business card designs simple, sleek and elegant to go along with the luxury feel of the Soronko brand.

(The card is white but has been darkened for the visual purposes)

At the end of this wonderful project I was kindly sent one of the first Soronko gift-boxes.

Seeing my designs in real life felt extremely surreal and I felt so proud of the final product.

Being a part of Soronko’s journey is a pleasure and I cannot wait to see how Mel and her business flourish as they so deservedly should.

Thank You Cards
